gluing up the legs, it sucked.
PROGRESS!!!!
I glued the legs, feet, and hips together. This
sucked. It is the hardest step in the entire build assembly. Lots of prep work
leading up to this.
I have a magnet drilled for and glued into the top
of the hips at the waist, to make the waist movable.
Pins in the knees for stability.
Alignment pins in the baseplate.
Planning out a baseplate system period. The model
does not come with a baseplate, the builder has to design and build a baseplate
if they want one.
Pin holes in the feet where the ankle struts will
attach. I am going to pin the top and the bottom of each ankle strut for
strength, it seems like a major weak point to me.
And last i have large pin holes drilled in the
legs at the hip joint. As soon as the glue cures a bit. Probably overnight, i
am going to put pins there for strength.
After all the pins are in, but before the ankle
struts are in, i am going to apply some paint at last! Primer and a base of
darker silver metallic will go down. After that the ankle struts will get
painted, installed, and pinned in.
Spray can of paint is there for the scale, so far this is just under 12 inches tall.
